I have known Vanessa Cantu for almost two years. After being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2014 I registered for my first adaptive Crossfit competition. I went to the Working Wounded Games in Washington D.C. alone. It was intimidating to be there alone and watch the other athletes compete. Vanessa welcomed me into her group of friends. She made me feel welcome, we exchanged information and our friendship began. Her friendliness and willingness to accept in a new comer was refreshing. She has continued to keep me informed of other adaptive competitions and we even roomed together for one this past March. Vanessa Cantu is an amazing athlete but even more, she is an amazing human being who cares about others and goes out of her way to help meet other people’s needs.
